We've made the process of generating newsletters automatic. Anyone who signs up for the newsletter will get one in their inbox daily so long as new articles are added to your site.
A typical newsletter
There are a few changes you can make to these automatically generated newsletters from the Other Options section under Organization. You can pause the newsletter, set some content restrictions, and adjust other features we're testing out.
Custom ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøletters
Editors also have the ability to create a custom newsletter and preview it before release. You'll see the option to select Custom ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøletters above your email stats in your Dashboard.
Send a Marketing Email From A Template:Patch Labs has pre-built marketing emails that you can send right from your dashboard. Easily create and send a note to your subscribers letting them know about the various ways they can promote their local small business or organization, including display advertising, featured events and more.
View, Edit, and Build Your ºÚÁϳԹÏÍøletter:
This will bring you to a page where you can view past custom newsletters, find additional information about sending them, and click Create to build a new one. When you create a newsletter, you can select the items to include in a "pre-build" of your newsletter from the options below.
Once your newsletter is created, any aspect of it can be edited. Just add or delete items anywhere on the letter. We strongly recommend sending yourself a preview since the formatting will be slightly different in an email. Also, if you include other news or events, which are sourced from around the internet, be sure to check for any stories that might come from another town with the same name or any stories that are not relevant to your audience for other reasons.
Save Your Draft Or Send It Out:When you're ready to send the letter out or need to save it for later, you'll find those options at the bottom of the page along with the options to set a send time and send yourself a preview. In the Other Options section of Organization you have the option to pause your daily newsletter for when you send out a custom one.
Breaking ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Announcements
The news never sleeps! Breaking news happens, and we have you covered. To send an email to your subscribers with a link to the article, find the article you've published in your Dashboard or under Content. Then click the ( ) to reveal the Send Alert button. When clicked, the article will be sent out and you'll see the message, "Breaking news Alert email will send in a minute or two!" If you're worried it was already sent out, don't! Instead of sending it again, you'll see a message that it was already sent out and the date it was sent.
Adding Subscribers
Spread the news! Add your contacts to your newsletter mailing list by going to the Organization tab and selecting Upload Email Addresses. You'll be directed to a form where you can upload a list of emails or a CSV file.
To make it easy for new subscribers to sign-up, we've included a link at the top right of your site along with one at the bottom of every article. If you'd like to include more opportunities for your readers to subscribe, you can also insert links in the body of your articles. Below, you can see the button on your article text editing menu for inserting a link and how these links appear in your article.
