About 150 people rallied in front of the Tesla Store at the Mercer Mall today to protest unilateral executive orders that have cut thousands of jobs and given Elon Musk access to personal data since Donald Trump took office on Jan 21st.
Protesters held signs and chanted slogans at passing cars and cheered when cars honked in approval. The slogans included: Hey Hey Ho Ho Elon Musk has got to go and Love Not Hate Thats What Makes America Great.
The rally was organized by Indivisible Cranbury. The goal of the rally described on their flyer was to make sure Tesla buyers know that theyre supporting a reckless billionaire whos stealing their personal data. During the rally the speakers encouraged people to participate in an economic lockout on Feb 28 and a protest at the Trenton Statehouse on March 1st at noon. On Feb 28 groups around the country are asking citizens to refrain from buying anything from major corporations.
US Representative Dr Herb Conaway of NJs 3rd Congressional District spoke to the crowd. He encouraged those in attendance to fight to defend democracy. He wants the US House of Representatives to Bring Impeachment Charges for the many crimes that are happening right before our eyes.
