Press release: From Ethereal to Real – A Navratri Golu Presentation

This year, West Windsor Arts is thrilled to present a unique Golu that reflects our community’s diversity and creativity. Crafted by local artists Padmaja Ganapathy and team, our Golu explores the pressing issue of global warming through allegory, metaphor, and mythology.

Navratri, the nine-day celebration of divine feminine power, is a vibrant tradition in South India. Traditionally, families display intricately arranged dolls and heirlooms, creating a festive and communal atmosphere.

Event Highlights:

• Immerse yourself in the beauty and symbolism of the Golu.
• Experience the rich cultural heritage of our community.
• Design traditional kolams (geometric shapes with aid of dots and lines)
• On Vijayadasami we put the Golu dolls to sleep for the year after 10 days of revelry and celebration
• Celebrate your knowledge and commence new things by registering for one of our classes or programs.
• Support the West Windsor Arts Council through donations
